Celler Comunica is a project by Pep Aguilar and Patri Morillo, two people with long careers in the wine trade who set out to build their own venture. They make their wines at Mas d'en Cosme, in Baboixos (Falset), within the DO Montsant, on a granite-soil estate.
The winery describes itself as "nonconformist and faithful to the terroir," following a minimal-intervention philosophy that aims to preserve each vineyard's own character and let the soil speak: granitic sand, limestone, clay-limestone, red clay and slate, depending on the plot. They produce nine different wines - among them Gris Granit, Suc de Sauló, Germinal, La Figa, Vi del Mas, Foxy Lady, Vinya Goretti and La Peluda - made mainly from Garnatxa (in several varieties: grey/red, black/fine, hairy and white), Carignan and Syrah.
Their wines are presented as "wines without makeup": lightly manipulated bottlings aimed at freshness, vibrancy and a clean expression of the Falset landscape.
