Viñedos de Ithaca

📍 Gratallops

Viñedos de Ithaca is a small winery in Gratallops founded in 1999 by Josep Puig and his daughter Sílvia Puig, who set out to fulfil their dream of running their own bodega in the Priorat. The name, taken from the mythical homeland of Odysseus, runs through all of the winery's wines, which are named after figures from Greek mythology such as Odysseus, Akyles and Penélope.

The first vintages were made in 1999 in a small renovated house on the estate; a modern winery built in the local architectural style followed, producing its first vintage in 2003. Winemaking was led by Sílvia Puig, an oenologist trained at bodegas such as Magaña (Navarra) and Alión and Vega Sicilia (Ribera del Duero), who brought a distinctive vinification approach and very limited production from roughly 20 hectares of vineyard.

Its wines include Odysseus, made in both a red version and a white Garnatxa Blanca bottling, both certified under DOQ Priorat. Sílvia Puig left the project in 2013, and the winery has since also been known under the name Puig Priorat.
