Combier-Fischer-Gerin, better known under the name of its project L'Infernal (originally Trio Infernal), was founded in 2002 in Torroja del Priorat when three Rhône Valley winemakers — Jean-Michel Gérin (Côte-Rôtie), Laurent Combier (Crozes-Hermitage) and Peter Fischer (Château Revelette, in Provence) — combined their experience and passion to make wine on one of Priorat's steepest slate terroirs.

The estate covers around 8 hectares of vines on slopes reaching gradients of up to 78%, planted mainly with old-vine Carignan (vines over 70 years old), alongside Grenache, Syrah and Macabeo. The slate (llicorella) soils give the acidity and concentration that balance the power typical of Priorat wines. The project is now run by the next generation, Léo and Lucas, and the vineyard has been organically certified since 2021.

Among the wines produced are the reds FaceNord, Riu and Aguilera, and the white Riu Blanc, alongside the historic Trio Infernal series (numbered No 1/3, 2/3 and 3/3), which have been reviewed in specialist wine publications such as The World of Fine Wine.
