Celler dels Pins Vers
📍 el Molar
Celler dels Pins Vers is a family winery in El Molar founded in 2002 by five people closely tied to the Priorat wine world: four with family roots in traditional viticulture, and the fifth the winemaker Montse Nadal, who had already been working in the area since 1998. The name comes from a property called "Pins Vers", after the stone pines (Pinus pinea) that grow there.
The winery farms around 5 hectares of vineyard spread across several plots within the El Molar municipality, growing Carignan (vines over 50 years old on llicorella slate), Grenache, and Cabernet Sauvignon, the latter planted on alluvial and calcareous soils. Its first harvest under the DOQ Priorat appellation was in 2004.
Its flagship wine is La Fuina, a red aged around 12 months in medium-toast French oak barrels, with long maceration and spontaneous malolactic fermentation. It shows an intense cherry color, aromas of dark fruit (blackberry, cassis) and spiced, balsamic notes, with a powerful, persistent tannic structure.
