The Miquel Montagud Museum is a municipal art museum in Cabassers built around the work of painter Miquel Montagud Borja (1897-1984), with originals and reproductions in the El Greco tradition. It makes a good cultural visit for a rainy day.
Montagud taught at the Tarragona School of Commerce (now Institut Comte de Rius) and, after retiring to Cabassers, kept painting and teaching art to local youth; his body of work devoted to El Greco is also known as "El Eco del Greco." The museum, in the heart of the old village centre, serves as an interpretation centre for this work and can be visited alone, with family, or in a group, with a guided visit available on request.
