Celler Cubells i Cubells was founded in 2004 as an extension of the family's existing vineyard holdings, aiming to complete the full cycle from growing quality grapes to artisanal winemaking and sale. The winery occupies part of a farmhouse (masia) built in 1986, set on a hill near the village of la Figuera at about 600 metres altitude, with views over Priorat, Ribera d'Ebre, Terra Alta and Montsant. Its vineyards -roughly 7 hectares spread across three family plots near the cellar, on calcareous soil, combining terraced and flat parcels- are planted with garnatxa negra (the traditional local variety), cabernet sauvignon, merlot and syrah, farmed with a mix of traditional and modern methods and without herbicides, pesticides or mineral fertilizers.
Its two red wines were Bàsic 4, a single-varietal garnatxa aged 15 months in tank, and Batec 5, a blend of garnatxa, cabernet sauvignon and merlot aged 14 months in new French oak. Around 2010 the winery's wines were served at chef Carles Abellán's Comerç 24 and Bravo restaurants in Barcelona. The winery's original website is gone -the domain has since been taken over by unrelated content- and it could not be confirmed whether the winery is still active today.
