Celler Gritelles is located in Cornudella de Montsant, in the valley that opens between the Serra de Montsant and the Gritelles hill, within DO Montsant. Its vineyards, at 400 to 700 metres of elevation, enjoy a warm, dry climate with cool nights and grow on varied soils of clay, limestone, slate and pebbles.
The winery works mainly with Grenache, Macabeo and Carignan, grapes it presents as heirs to a long local winemaking tradition — one it traces back to before Roman times for viticulture in the area, and links Macabeo to Phoenician traders on the Tarragona coast. Its stated philosophy is to seek a balance between territory, grape and microorganisms to produce wines that reflect their place of origin.
Its range includes the wines Vedrenyes, Siurana Brisat, Macabeu Tros de la Serra, Brisat Ancestral and Manou. The winery offers visits and tastings in the mornings and afternoons, every day of the week, by prior arrangement via email or WhatsApp.
