Celler Els Guiamets is the trading name of the Cooperativa Agrícola d'Els Guiamets (S.C.C.L.), an agricultural cooperative founded in 1913 in the town of Els Guiamets, in the southern part of the Priorat comarca, Tarragona province. Its wines are covered by the DO Montsant appellation since its creation in 2001. According to the cooperative's own materials, it brought together around forty members contributing roughly 150 hectares of vineyard, mostly old bush-trained (vaso) vines on llicorella (slate) soils and brown terraces, with low yields.
Winemaking combined traditional methods with technological innovation: hand-harvesting, owing to the small size and difficult terrain of the plots, fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, and 11-12 months of ageing for the red wines in French and American oak barrels held in underground galleries. Its labels included ISIS (a blend of Carinyena/Cariñena, Garnacha Tinta and Syrah), Gran Mets Negre (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Tempranillo) and Lo Mets Blanc, made from Garnacha Blanca; the cooperative also produced olive oil.
