Celler de l'Encastell, sold under the Roquers name, is a small family winery in Porrera founded in 1999 by Carme Figuerola and Raimon Castellví. The family had grown grapes for several generations and traditionally sold them to other local wineries; in the late 1990s they decided to bottle their own wine instead.
The vineyards, totaling around 8-10 hectares, are spread across three estates: Mas d'en Caçador (with old vines up to a hundred years old), Mas d'en Ferran and Els Arbres. Old Garnacha and Cariñena predominate, complemented by small amounts of Syrah and Merlot, planted on llicorella, the iron-rich slate typical of Priorat, under a climate of sharp contrasts that concentrates the fruit.
The flagship wine is Roquers de Porrera, a long-aging red made in very limited quantities (around 4,000-6,000 bottles a year), alongside the more widely produced Marge and other labels such as Roquers de Samsó and Roquers de Garnatxa. The winery sells directly from its premises in Porrera.
