Bellmunt del Priorat is a DOQ Priorat village set on a hill where the Siurana and Montsant rivers meet, with one of the warmest climates in the comarca. Its identity is tied to its mining past: rich veins of galena and millerite made it one of Catalonia's most important lead-extraction centres. Mina Eugènia, the largest mine in the village by size, depth and yield, can be visited with a guide, and the former Casa de les Mines — an Art Nouveau building from the early 20th century that housed the management office, the laboratory and staff residence — today holds the Museum of Mines.
The neoclassical 18th-century parish church of Santa Llúcia, cross-shaped with a dome, anchors the village centre and has the only white bell tower in the whole comarca. Every 30 December the village holds the Festa Major dels Innocents, featuring la Badejada, a traditional stew of butter beans and salt cod cooked publicly in the street.
