Celler Sedó Barceló

Celler Sedó Barceló is a family winery in Bellmunt del Priorat with deep roots in the village: the Sedó and Barceló families were among the first to settle there and have grown vines since 1720. Josep Ramon Sedó took over the family operation in 1986, at the age of 22, and soon afterwards recovered the abandoned Sant Martí estate to plant new vineyards. Around 2007–2008 the family set up the winery under its own label to make and sell its wine, adding the farm shop "Lo Cistell del Pagès". Today the project is run by Josep Ramon Sedó himself (viticulture, winery and sales) and Amparo Barceló, with winemaker Santi Torrella.
It is a small-scale operation —a family "micro-winery"— with around 16 hectares of vines in DOQ Priorat and an output of roughly 10,000 bottles a year. They farm using integrated production, which they see as the most rational and sustainable way to work the land, and deliberately keep prices affordable to bring DOQ Priorat wine to a wide audience. Under the Sedó Barceló label they make a young red and a crianza —one of their reds is a blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot— alongside white and rosé. Beyond wine, the family farm also yields melon, peaches, almonds and extra-virgin olive oil, sold at the "Lo Cistell del Pagès" farm shop.
The winery welcomes visitors: roughly one-hour tours, free of charge and by prior booking, for small groups (2 to 8 people), in Catalan, Spanish or English, combining a walk through the vineyard with a tasting of two wines.
