The Falset Wine Fair is the Priorat's leading wine fair and showcases the comarca's two appellations, DOQ Priorat and DO Montsant. Launched by Falset town council some three decades ago —it will reach its 32nd edition in 2027— it has grown into a major event whose centrepiece is a wine tasting at the fairground, complemented by gastronomy, music and viticulture activities. It is the key moment on the wine-tourism calendar in the comarca capital: a recent edition drew around 30,000 visitors over the weekend and served roughly 56,000 wine tastings.
Around the main tasting, open from Saturday to Sunday, the programme includes talks and introductory wine-tasting courses, cooking contests using wine as an ingredient, open-door days at wineries across the comarca, and food-and-wine pairings, plus a trade networking event usually held on a weekday of the same week at Falset Castle. There are also parallel activities —literary walks, concerts with tastings and workshops— spread throughout May across various towns in the comarca.
