The oldest section of the el Masroig cooperative winery dates from 1917, when it was founded as the Sindicat Agrícola i Caixa Rural del Masroig; in 1945, under new cooperative legislation, it merged with a second existing winery to form the Cooperativa Agrícola i Caixa Rural de Sant Bartomeu, which still markets almost all the municipality's wine and oil within the DO Montsant.
The original building has a simple Noucentista façade and is listed in the Inventari del Patrimoni Arquitectònic de Catalunya (Catalan Architectural Heritage Inventory); it was extended with new bays in 1974 and 1990, and still preserves old underground fermentation vats alongside modern equipment. Located on Passeig de l'Arbre, beside the former Falset-el Molar road, it is a working winery with a farm shop and several wine-tourism experiences -cellar visit with tasting, olive-oil tourism, e-bike route, family activity- all requiring advance reservation. It is often presented as one of the comarca's "wine cathedrals".
