Ritme Celler was founded in 2010 by Albert Jané, who had previously run winemaking ventures in Penedès (from 1996) and in Montsant (from 2004). The winery started operating in Poboleda and in 2012 moved to la Vilella Alta, where Jané fully restored an old village building to serve as the winery's current premises, with a 550-square-metre production area and a 100-square-metre tasting room overlooking the Montsant mountain range and la Figuera.
The project farms close to 20 hectares organically, split between owned estates (14 ha) and leased vineyards (6 ha), spread across several spots within DOQ Priorat such as Aubagues de Falset, Bellmunt del Priorat, coll de Porrera and el Lloar, on the region's characteristic llicorella (slate) soils. The winery's philosophy favors combining centuries-old techniques with modern technology to produce wines that express the terroir.
The winery produces five wines: Ritme red, Ritme white, Plaer, Etern and Sellongues.
