Celler Cesca Vicent is a small family-run winery in Gratallops founded in 2000 by Francesca ("Cesca") Vicent Robert, daughter of Cecilio Vicent, who in 1942 had left the village cooperative to make wine on his own. The family's land, the Mas d'en Corral estate, had been farmed by her ancestors for centuries; Cesca inherited it in the 1980s and, together with her husband Luis, added further plots to reach the current estate of roughly 11 hectares of vines.
Since 2008 the winery has produced certified organic wine, controlled by the CCPAE, with all vines and wines coming exclusively from this single estate under the Priorat DOQ appellation. It makes both white and red wines from varieties including white grenache, macabeo, red grenache, carignan, cabernet sauvignon, syrah and merlot, in labels such as Cabaler, Abat Domènech, Lo Piot, Cesca Vicent and Garnatxa EG, the last a 100% grenache wine aged in 300-litre French oak barrels.
The winery's philosophy centers on stewarding the Priorat soil and climate to obtain quality grapes and wines that reflect the area's character: fruit, minerality and personality. Wines can be bought directly at the Gratallops winery, on the Vilella Baixa road (T-710, km 9.5).
