Celler Devinssi was founded in 2000 in Gratallops by Josep Roca Benito, a trained oenologist, who in 2001 planted the first vines on the Les Planes estate and built a small winery in the same village, in the heart of Priorat. The building occupies a former olive-oil mill, of which two original walls are still preserved.
The winery works with traditional local varieties, mainly old-vine Carignan and Grenache from Gratallops and la Vilella Baixa, producing around 12,000 bottles a year in a limited, artisanal fashion. It makes the wines Il·lia, Mas de les Valls (red and white), Cupatge, and Rocapoll, the latter created in 2005 from recovered old Carignan vineyards as a "vi de vila" (village wine).
Il·lia and Rocapoll received 92 and 91 points respectively in the 2016 Guía Peñín. The winery offers personalized tours and tastings by advance booking, as well as a "vineyard godparent" sponsorship programme.
