Celler Costers del Ros traces its origins to Cal Ros, a house in the center of Gratallops where the Ros i Juanpere family set up a winery between 1775 and 1785. The family enjoyed a period of prosperity between 1910 and 1950, with around 30 hectares of vineyard yielding close to 36,000 kilos of grapes. After decades of inactivity, the Gràcia i Juanpere family revived the family trade and, in the early 2000s, restored the ancestral house and built the new Costers del Ros winery.
The old underground cellar still produces traditional rancio wine, while the rest of production - chiefly the red Òbila, made from garnacha, cariñena and cabernet sauvignon - takes place in the new facility, built inside the old house (whose facade was preserved) and fitted with modern equipment combined with organic and artisanal methods. The winery also produces the red L'Albada.
Located on Carrer de les Valls, the winery offers guided vineyard tours by 4x4 and tours of both cellars, old and new, with direct wine sales on site.
