Blai Ferré Just
📍 Gratallops
Blai Ferré i Just trained at leading Priorat estates such as Álvaro Palacios and Celler Capçanes before joining his wife's family winery in Gratallops, Celler Cecilio, in 2000. Founded in 1942 by Cecilio Vicent, Celler Cecilio is considered one of the first wineries registered under the Priorat appellation. Blai now oversees the vineyards and winemaking there, while Raquel Vicent handles administration and sales.
Alongside this, Blai Ferré runs his own personal project with vineyards in Massos del Falset, an area of the Falset municipality where the llicorella slate soils allow wine to be produced under either DO Montsant or DOQ Priorat, depending on the plot. Under his own name he makes mostly Garnatxa-based wines, including 'Billo', 'Clos Petitona' -from a single plot in Falset- and 'Finca Desnivell', from a terraced vineyard.
His style favours minimal intervention: picking by taste, fermenting with wild yeasts, no acidification, a light dose of sulphur before bottling, and no filtration - letting the slate's minerality come through in the finished wines.
